Zero Waste Gifts

Shop all of the Zero Waste products by Sunny Day Designs! We strive to use Zero Waste design principles whenever possible to stop waste production at its source. Several of the items we design are Zero Waste gifts that are either designed to create no wasted fabric scraps during the fabric process or to create very minimal fabric scraps that are intentionally re-used to create additional items. All of our Zero Waste products are handmade in our design studio so that we can control the process and prevent waste from occurring.

A good example of a Zero Waste product that we make is our durable and playfully patterned linen/cotton kitchen tea towels (which are sewn from rectangles to eliminate waste). Any leftover fabric yardage that is too narrow to become a tea towel is then cut into smaller square shapes in order to make a second product, our reusable fabric cocktail napkin sets. Finally, the extremely small amounts of fabric that are left over after we create those 2 products are recycled by a commercial textile recycling program.
